Random-ness and update around the farm

That is me and my Super Hero Stinkie Pete:O) He has been a handful lately though...lol.

What happened with Sheridan has really thrown me for a loop. I have been on a different spiritual path lately and enjoyin' myself and learnin'. But this gave me a lot of questions and frankly, its hard for me to understand. We got really close to her, the kids and our cousin when we lived in Durant, OK for a year. And  I guess when I look back on it now, she was sad, if not deeply depressed. But enough to do what she did? I didn't think so, though we haven't been too close for over a year now. And she was the one I tried to get to go on the Redneck Women show I was supposed to do but she wouldn't do it. Still...it is so hard for me to imagine what she was feelin' and thinkin' when she pulled the trigger. I wish I could have been there for her, helped her some way. I felt somethin' bad comin' but I thought it was our cousin. That's where I have a hard time as well. I'm tryin' to get in touch better with my intuition and the feelings I get and I failed. Though I will dare say I think the kids are takin' it pretty good. Maybe they had grown tired of seein' her that way? Maybe they know she is at peace now? I don't know...but it's really been on my mind. And I didn't go to the funeral...I couldn't do it. Our cousin couldn't go and can't see the kids as it is...crazy life. Selfish maybe but I couldn't feel all those emotions or see the kids. I will go see her at the cemetery though...

Things have been hot and dry around the farm. The grass is comin' in after Brandon planted Bermuda grass (they say Ba-muda here...lol!!!) but the garden could use a major overhaul. I need to get parts of it plowed up and plant for the Fall as I don't think too much will survive out there with the heat. We did get a bit of rain the other night and that has helped. I do have green beans and a few tomato plants. Corn is doin' okay but I need to plant much more and n-s instead of e-w. The wind gets it every time and I actually have string holdin' it up now:)

I finally got my smart phone hooked up to my facebook account. Now I can take pics and put them online for all the family and friends to see. I should have done it a long time ago. I'm tryin' to use my phone more since I pay for the damned thing, I might as well. I also love the radio I put on there and the Weather Channel app. Pretty dandy!! I also signed up for direct tv and it should be installed tomorrow but we'll see. Out here in the country, you never know. I do know I am tired of the crappy HD service from DISH and I like that all the movies and shows will be viewable right away, from the adapter thing. There are a ton of better channels as well...we like TV here and our DVR!! Sounds bad but we do. We live a very busy, full life but also like to unwind and relax to shows we've recorded:O)

Softball is almost over, thank God!!! The gas is killin' us and next week, since Brandon and Emmah's team are second (first place got to choose where to play-dammit!), we get to play in their town over 50 miles one way. Probably at least 3 or 4 days next week!!! They do have a chance to go to state, so keep your fingers crossed. But don't get me started on the new tires we FINALLY got to put on the Suburban and have blown out 2 of 4...talk about a pisser for sure!!! If we do blow one more, the guy will order 4 new ones for us. So, I say, let's blow out one more so we can have some tires I feel comfortable drivin'!!! I swear, ain't nothin' easy anymore...

Montanna has a game tonight to make up for a rain-out game, which actually is very weird because Wednesdays are for church and no practice or games are ever scheduled. And another game in another town tomorrow. Sweet!! Wish her team luck:)

I guess I should go. I'm makin' pizzas for dinner and I need to make the sauce and let it chill and mingle for a little while in the frig. Have a good day and give thanks for all in your life and send positive thoughts out to those who may need a reminder and a soft voice...

What is wrong with parents???

To say I was shocked to hear the crap that is yelled at kids durin' softball practice would be puttin' it lightly. Why do some parents feel the need to degrade and belittle their children in front of their peers and other parents and people??? It truly breaks my heart and makes me want to whoop some ass, frankly!!! How can ANY parent EVER put their child down??? Are we not their biggest fans???

Sports should be fun for kids, heck, anyone!

So, when we go back to practice on Thursday, the parents will be enlightened to the rules and if they don't like them or can't abide by them...they can take their asses and big, mean mouths home!!!

Okay...sorry for the rant:O)

I do have a recipe for ya'll today. We're havin' tacos with beans and rice. It will be nice to have a real meal tonight as we've been husslin' and busy with practices all this week. O-and we're excited Little Man got drafted to his tball team from last year...GO BLACK SOCKS!!

Spanish Rice
*3 tbsp. olive oil
*1 cup rice
*1 small can of tomato sauce
*2 cups chicken broth
and spices...I use chili powder, garlic salt or garlic, pepper and salt and maybe a little red pepper.

Brown the rice for a few minutes and then add the rest of the ingredients. Turn down the heat, cover and let it simmer for 20 minutes or so until done. Fluff and enjoy:O)

And I've be forgettin' to give ya'll the update on the chicks we're incubatin'. They all died due to the egg position:O( So I put another clutch of eggs in and layed them on their sides, like they would be in the nest. They are due to hatch tomorrow and I pray they all make it outta their shells.  won't help a chick out because if they are too weak to get out of the shell, they are not right and should be culled. Sad but Nature is smart and does things like that.

Have a great day!!!

You're still mean

This is Hog Dog-the one who had the snakes bayed the other day:O) That's him at the door refusin' to come in outta the rain...he looked so sad.

Just because you're family, it doesn't give you a right to be mean...to children at that!!! I don't want to spend a lot of time or energy on this BS but I have to say that when it involves my kids, I will stand up for them and not tolerate rude behavior!!!

I also won't go into detail, just family crap. I'm just so tired of the negativity and gossiping and now it's gone to the kids...right in front of them. Say what you will about me, I can take it. But talk about my kids or Big Daddy and we have a HUGE problem. And as soon as some people realize that no one is perfect and quit lookin' down their big noses at those *below them*...those people might actually enjoy life and have fun:O) Get a life!!! On to other matters...

Big Daddy will be coachin' the girls 10 and up softball team...I am soooooo excited for him:O) He has really taken to pickin' teams and callin' parents, I'm proud of him!! I just hope that Stinkie Pete might still get to play...I haven't said anything to him, it will break my heart:O( We should hear soemthin' later this week.

Now I'm not really sure how Big Mama is gonna keep up with 4 kids, 1 Big Daddy coach and his team and 2 other teams, practices and games. Not to mention snacks, rides...crap...now I'm scared;O) O-and the garden and Farmer's Market...lol...busy summer...and hog huntin'!!!

I also found Big Daddy's best friend on facebook:O) I've been lookin' for years and it seems that he just got an account. His son was also Montanna's first little boyfriend...they grew up together. He has a fb page...maybe it's time to let Tanna have one...we'll discuss it!

I would love to find my dad someday on facebook:O)

Beautiful Spring days are here, peace and harmony are comin' into balance and we are enjoyin' life!!! We did get to work in the garden yesterday evenin'. I planted toms, peppers, turnips, beans, melons and probably more I forgot. I can't plant again until the 6th accordin' to the Farmer's Almanac.

Have a great Monday!!

Clumsy mama and Coach Big Daddy:O)

Welp, we never went campin'. Things just didn't pan out. We did go fishin' last Sunday and I was the only one to catch a fish:O) I used a bit of hot dog and it snagged me a Blue Gill. It was a little on the small side but I brought him home to put in my fish bucket. I'm makin' fertilizer with fish and other organic matter that will break down into some wonderful super juice. I'm hopin' to sell it in quarts along with other things at the Farmer's Market this year, which starts next weekend. I have a few other thoughts in mind for things to sell...jewelry I make, soap (gardeners soap and others), fresh cuts flowers and herbs, chicks and ducklings and Brandon is startin' to make things with wood from around the property. I found him a chunk of wood that looks like a Bald Eagle head. It's really amazing how it resembles an Eagle. Now I just need to get him a dremel (maybe for our 13th anniversary on the 15th:O)

I will be doin' Easter different this year...no stupid baskets filled with a crap load of tooth-rottin' candy. Nope, this year I plan to make their baskets from vines around here to put their eggs in and I will plant flower seeds in a pot I will decorate for them to love and take care of. This is a time of renewal and growth!

Here are a few sites that give some good info on basket weaving and natural resources for material.

I signed all the kids up for Tball and Softball yesterday...well, except for Stinky Pete. I thought he only had to be 3 but he has to be 5. BUT...Brandon was picked as a coach so I'm hopin' they will make an exception like they did last year for the coaches tiny 3 year old son. I hope!! He really wants to play and is actually a good sized little dude:O) Brandon has his first meeting today and I hope it goes well. He should do awesome and I'm so proud of him!!! It feels good to finally feel like we are fittin' into our community...after 3 years:O)

O-and I severally sprained my left ankle, if not broke it almost a week ago. We had some snakes that needed killed and the shovel was in my monster truck. Hope up on the tire and reach to get the shovel. Turn around and hope down (about 3-4 feet) on my left leg to stay off my *needs surgery* right knee and my ankle just flipped and buckled onto the top with the shovel in there some where. Since we had company at the time I had to jump up (with the help of the shovel still in my hand) like I was fine but I tell ya, I could have broke out in some tears! I can handle a large amount of pain but this was HUGE!!

I finally get into the house and get my shoe off. It was already startin' to swell and frankly kinda felt numb. I put ice on it and have been tryin' to stay off it as much as possible. And that is VERY hard for me. I am always busy out in the yard or somethin' and now I can't. I tried to talk Brandon into fixin' my 4 wheeler wagon tires so I can haul some rocks and stuff but it's a no-go:O( He says he ain't fixin' it until my ankle/foot is better. And since it's still swelled up into my leg, I can't put full weight on it and still just messed up...my wagon won't get fixed...but maybe I will:O)

Anyhoo, I better get off here and see what I can do in the yard before things hurt too bad. I did get 8 roses moved and have seen Crate Myrtles all over the yard. I might dig those and pot them to sell as well. People are payin' hundreds of dollars for bigger trees around here...SWEET!!! And we have them almost growin' wild:O)

Have a great day and enjoy some outside time today!!!
